“This Project has unveiled parts of myself that were so dormant; I didn’t know they even existed. Having found out about the project 3 years ago I was unaware that it would be a catalyst for my life path. In 2016 I came off the platform stage after the project showcase knowing that it was performance I wanted to do and nothing else!
Three years on and I’ve grown, blossomed and evolved into the creative force I once dreamed that I could be. So much that I led a class of my own this year and it has been an insanely incredible experience. This project has honestly been one of the best things to happen to me, if not the best!! It has truly changed my life and I wish the whole world knew about it!!!!”

“I’ve been involved with the project for about three years now and hand on heart, it has completely changed my life. No exaggeration. When I first came by the project through a friend, I was an introverted, shy, nerdy kid who liked dancing in his bedroom and loved reading about different cultures from across the globe. After I joined the project in 2016 I went on a journey of self discovery that has expanded my mind and my personal horizons to levels I never even knew existed. I was given a platform to be able to be completely and totally be free to express and develop my creativity in dance, music, fashion and self-expression.
Along the way I’ve met some absolutely incredible people, who are now some of my best friends. I’ve learnt to let go of fears of judgement and to fully embrace myself for who I truly am, and it’s simply all because I was given the space and opportunity to express myself and to just be free. On top of all of that, I’ve learned so much about so much I never knew anything about, like drumming, or dancing, or makeup and body painting.
One of the greatest things about this, for me, has been that it has really and truly helped me figure out where I’m going with my life because the workshops helped me to find out where my passion lies and to really awaken that fire within me. Not only that, but I’ve been given the opportunity to take a step further and actually participate in teaching some workshops and sharing some of my knowledge and skills which has been, and still is such a gratifying experience.
I can honestly say I’m so proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone and growing so much, because this project is actually the highlight of my year and being a part of this has really helped me become a better person. I tell all my friends about all the cool things that we do and all the different workshops and it’s just great!
If you love music, and you love costumes, and you love having fun then you need to sign up for the indigo carnival project!!”

I was so incredibly moved watching the show last night. The passion, heart, soul and hard work these young people put into their performances was incredible! The energy, the positivity and the performances were all amazing and as individual as the young people themselves. I think Stephanie is a very powerful creative force and what she’s doing with today’s young people is nothing short of magical. Offering them creative expression and a new path to take their lives. It’s absolutely beautiful work and I really look forward to seeing what’s next
